Faire Wholesale Wins Bid to Toss Online Platform Monopoly Case

Faire Wholesale Inc. prevailed in an antitrust suit accusing it of monopolizing the market for online wholesale platforms and blocking a key rival from competition.

Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín of the US District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday granted Faire’s motion to dismiss, saying plaintiff Tundra Inc. failed to sufficiently define a relevant market to support its antitrust claims.

Tundra claimed San Francisco-based Faire blocked it from competing in the market, which Tundra defined as “online wholesale marketplaces that connect local retailers throughout the US with new or emerging domestic brands.”
