Baltimore Sues Hess, Other Oil Companies in New Antitrust Suit

Hess Corp., Pioneer Natural Resources Co., and Diamondback Energy Inc. are among the oil producers facing a new antitrust suit from Baltimore’s mayor and city council accusing the companies of conspiring to cut oil production and inflate prices.

The city was forced to pay more for light petroleum products as a result of the alleged price-fixing conspiracy to constrain the production of shale oil, according to a proposed class action filed Saturday in the US District Court for the District of New Mexico.
