Wisconsin Man Sentenced for Assault With Bear Spray on Jan. 6

A Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his actions during the breach of the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to the Justice Department on Wednesday.

Riley Kasper pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C., federal court to assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees. Specifically, Kasper was found guilty of assault using an aerosol canister of bear spray.

In addition to his prison sentence, Kasper has been ordered to serve 24 months of supervised release and pay restitution of $2,000, the DOJ said.
