Vik Spared Jail Term Over $340 Million Deutsche Bank Lies

Norwegian investor Alexander Vik avoided an immediate jail term after he was found guilty of lying to a London court in a decade-long legal saga with Deutsche Bank AG

Judge Clare Moulder handed Vik a 20 month suspended prison sentence in a July decision. Vik was also ordered to pay Deutsche Bank £1.2 million ($1.5 million)in costs. Vik, who lost the multi billion suit in 2013, has consistently failed to pay anything he owes to the German lender and evaded a string orders from London judges. Deutsche Bank was awarded around $340 million.
