Veterinarian Convicted in ‘Widespread’ Racehorse Doping Scheme

A federal jury in New York convicted veterinarian Seth Fishman Wednesday of drug adulteration and misbranding with intent to defraud and mislead, in connection with a 20-year scheme to create and distribute performance enhancing drugs for use in professional horse racing.

Fishman is the first to be convicted by a jury out of more than 30 defendants charged in four separate cases in March 2020 arising from a multi-year investigation of racehorse abuse through performance enhancing drugs, the Justice Department said, in its announcement of the verdict.
