An unlicensed California stock promoter was sentenced March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to 51 months in prison in connection with his role in a conspiracy to obstruct the Internal Revenue Service, the Justice Department announced (United States v. Garcia).
Judge Manuel L. Real also ordered Nicholas Myles Garcia to pay $327,980 in restitution to the IRS.
Garcia pleaded guilty in October to one count each of conspiracy and subscribing to a false tax return.
