Two Lawyers Indicted in Connection With Rothstein’s $1.2B Ponzi Scheme

Two Florida attorneys were indicted for their alleged participation in convicted fraudster Scott Rothstein’s $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme that induced investors to purchase interests in fictitious civil case settlement awards, according to indictments unsealed Aug. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (United States v. Bates; United States v. Kitterman).

The two unsealed indictments charged Douglas L. Bates and Christina M. Kitterman each with conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
