Trump Team Touts Arrests, Dismisses Critics of DC Takeover (2)

President Donald Trump’s administration is pushing back on criticism that the surge of law enforcement and National Guard troops to Washington has focused on low-crime areas of the nation’s capital or resulted in a significant uptick in arrests.

“We have now made over 550 arrests in Washington, DC and have taken 76 illegal firearms off the streets—saving lives,” US Attorney General Pam Bondi said Wednesday in a social media post which also touted a $500 reward for information leading to arrests.
