Three Owners of SoCal Drug Cos. Arrested In $20M Structuring Scheme

Authorities April 12 arrested four people, including the owners of two drug wholesale companies in the Los Angeles area, for allegedly participating in a “structuring” scheme to conceal $20 million from the federal government (United States v. Kayseryan, C.D. Cal., No. 2:17-00196, 4/6/17).

Among those taken into custody are Richard Kayseryan, the owner of Burbank, Calif.-based TriMed Medical Wholesales Inc., and Derou Biglari and Jivani Markarian, the owners of Glendale, Calif.-based JD Pharmaceutical Wholesaler Inc. Kayseryan is the lead defendant in the 20-count indictment, according to prosecutors.
