Texas will appeal the denial of its request to intervene in a challenge to a Trump-era rule that victims’ advocates say weakens Title IX sexual harassment protections in educational institutions, according to a Thursday filing in the District of Massachusetts.
Equal Rights Advocates, Victim Rights Law Center, Legal Voice, and Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation filed the suit in June 2020 against the U.S. Department of Education.
The groups seek to vacate the department’s final regulations implementing Title IX published May 19, 2020.
