Substance Abuse Treatment Clinic Settles FCA Allegations

Springbok Health Inc., a medical clinic with locations in Colorado Springs and Pueblo West, Colo., and its owner and Chief Executive Officer Mark Jankelow have agreed to pay at least $125,000, and as much as $335,494, to resolve allegations they violated the False Claims Act, according to the Department of Justice announcement Monday.

Springbok and Jankelow allegedly billed Medicare and Medicaid between 2017 and 2019 for high-complexity and prolonged medical evaluation and management services which were not rendered or less expensive counseling services were provided, according to the department.
