Sex Trafficking Claims at Florida Hotel Survive Bid to Toss Case

Choice Hotels International Inc. and R&M Real Estate Co. Inc. must continue to face allegations they profited from the sex trafficking of a minor at a Florida hotel, a federal judge said Monday.

A plaintiff identified as S.Y. alleges she was trafficked, sexually exploited, abused, and drugged at a Comfort Inn and Executive Suites in Naples, Fla., between 2013 and 2016. That hotel is owned by R&M, a franchisee of Choice Hotels, according to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
