Sentencing of ComEd Four Postponed Pending SCOTUS Bribery Ruling

A federal judge postponed sentencing for a group of former Commonwealth Edison executives and lobbyists found guilty last year of paying former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan (D) to advance the utility company’s legislative agenda.

The US Supreme Court agreed to hear Snyder v. United States in December, and “ComEd Four” defendants Michael McClain, Anne Pramaggiore, John Hooker, and Jay Doherty have argued that the eventual ruling there could upend the Seventh Circuit case law used to convict them.
