Russian Spam King Asks U.S. Judge to Spare Him More Jail Time

A Russian man who pleaded guilty to a massive hacking scheme asked a U.S. judge to spare him from further prison time, calling the 4 1/2 years he’s already served an “eternity” that has left him “broken and defeated.”

Peter Levashov is facing a July 20 sentencing on charges that he stole personal information and passwords from thousands of hijacked computers which he harnessed to distribute spam emails pushing fake drugs and scam investments.
