Parking Lots Operator Gets Almost 6 Years for $13M VA Fraud Plot

A man who owned a parking lot services company was sentenced to nearly six years in prison for leading a scheme to defraud the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs out of more than $13 million, prosecutors said in a written statement.

The judge on Aug. 20 ordered David Richard Scott, the owner of Westside Services LLC, to spend 70 months in federal prison and pay $12,619,693 in restitution to the VA. The sentencing marks an effective end to the case against Scott, coming three months after he agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy and wire fraud charges.
