Oregon Ex-Governor Must Testify in Prisoner Covid Exposure Suit

Former Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) must testify in a lawsuit filed by a class of prisoners who allege the state corrections system didn’t do enough to protect them from contracting Covid-19, a divided Ninth Circuit panel ruled.

The state unsuccessfully sought to quash a district court order compelling Brown—who served as governor from 2015 to 2023—to be deposed in the case.
