NJ Businessman Who Bribed Menendez, Testified Avoids Prison (1)

A New Jersey businessman who conspired to bribe former US Senator Bob Menendez but then became a key government witness avoided a prison term in the corruption case.

The businessman, Jose Uribe, was sentenced Thursday to six months of home confinement and three years of probation by US District Judge Sidney Stein in Manhattan. Prosecutors had asked Stein to take Uribe’s assistance into account, noting that he was the only cooperating witness in the case.
