New York Businessman Adam Victor Admits Illegal Campaign Money

Adam Victor, a New York City businessman involved in several recent legal controversies, pleaded guilty in federal court in Washington, D.C., to making illegal federal campaign contributions, the Department of Justice said.

The DOJ said Victor admitted making a total of $17,500 in illegal contributions in 2011 by funneling money through family members and colleagues to avoid Federal Election Commission contribution limits.

The contributions went to a presidential campaign and a U.S. Senate campaign. The DOJ statement didn’t name the candidates, but FEC records analyzed by the nonprofit Center for Responsive Politics showed Victor contributed to the campaigns of 2012 ...
