NBC Universal Media LLC must produce outtake footage from an interview of the ex-wife of a man convicted of murdering a Texas prosecutor’s spouse because it’s likely relevant to the death row inmate’s petition to be released.
The Dateline interview of Kim Williams, ex-wife of the former Kaufman County, Texas Justice of the Peace Eric Lyle Williams, can’t be “reasonably” obtained elsewhere, said Judge Lewis J. Liman of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday. He granted Williams’ request for interview outtakes in part after finding that he had overcome the “qualified journalists’ privilege.” ...
