Convicted felons who allege their constitutional rights were violated when they were subjected to administrative imposition of post-release supervision following incarceration will be able to continue as a class following a ruling by a federal judge in Manhattan.
The class includes over 3,000 individuals, all of whom were convicted of felonies in New York state courts. After being sentenced to and serving varying periods of incarceration, they allege they were subjected to PRS terms by administrators rather by a sentencing court.
