Michael Cohen Lawyer Who Cited Bogus Cases Avoids Sanctions

Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen and Cohen’s own lawyer won’t face sanctions after including a string of fake case citations in an artificial intelligence-assisted motion for early termination of Cohen’s supervised release, a federal court said Wednesday.

“His citation to non-existent cases is embarrassing and certainly negligent, perhaps even grossly negligent,” Judge Jesse M. Furman of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said. “But the Court cannot find that it was done in bad faith.”
