Magaly Travieso, a registered nurse in Miami, was charged with conspiracy to commit health-care fraud, and Yudorki Ramirez was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
According to the DOJ, Travieso conspired with others to submit over $20 million in fraudulent claims for reimbursement, of which her company received more than $10 million from 2019 through 2023. Travieso and Ramirez allegedly used the fraud proceeds for their personal use, including purchasing a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover, residences in Miami, and transferring funds to investment accounts.
