A federal jury in Florida convicted a man of trying to kill President
Ryan Routh, 59, was found guilty Tuesday of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, which carries a potential sentence of life in prison.
The Associated Press reported that Routh, who represented himself at trial, attempted to stab himself in the neck with a pen after the verdict was read, though court officers quickly subdued him.
