Lobbyists’ League Calls for Dialogue With Obama on Reform of Lobbying Law

In response to President Obama’s frequent criticism of their profession, the American League of Lobbyists (ALL) is calling for a dialogue with the White House on possible reforms.

ALL sent Obama aletter March 12 calling for discussions centered on closing “loopholes” in the federal Lobbying Disclosure Act. A key focus of such discussions should be a provision of the current law that allows lobbyists to escape LDA registration if they claim to spend less than 20 percent of their time on lobbying work.
