The Defense Department Inspector General’s criminal investigative division is “examining allegations” related to the Air Force’s Big Safari acquisition and sustainment program, Capitol Forum said, citing a letter dated Sept. 27 that the news organization obtained from a Freedom of Information Act request.
It remains unclear whether the Defense Criminal Investigative Service started a formal probe into allegations from Reps. Walter Jones and Ted Budd (both R-N.C.) in July about a potentially improper relationship between L-3 and Big Safari.
