Jury Convicts Two in $3.5 Million Pasadena Embezzlement Plot

A former employee of the city of Pasadena, Calif., and an electrical contractor were convicted for their roles in a scheme to steal about $3.5 million from the city, government officials announced late Nov. 6.

A jury found Danny R. Wooten, a 12-year Pasadena employee who served as a management analyst in the city’s Public Works Department, guilty of 53 counts, including embezzlement. Tyrone Collins, co-defendant and owner of Collins Electric, was convicted on 20 counts, according to the prosecution.
