The Justice Department is temporarily barred from reallocating grants that it pulled from the Vera Institute of Justice and four other groups offering violence intervention and victim support services, a federal trial judge ruled Monday.
The order comes as the organizations fight a July 7 decision rejecting their would-be class action that sought the reinstatement of $820 million worth of grants that the Justice Department abruptly terminated in April.
