Founders of Pyramid Scheme Sentenced for $23 Million in Fraud

Three individuals were sentenced for their roles in founding and operating an illegal pyramid scheme, the Justice Department announced Tuesday.

Alex Dee was sentenced to 36 months in prison and ordered to pay $1,845,600, Brian Kaplan was sentenced to 22 months in prison and ordered to pay $2,838,700, and Jerrold Mauer was sentenced to 22 months in prison and ordered to pay $1,545,500, the DOJ said.
