Former Attorney in Rothstein’s Firm Sentenced for Role in Ponzi Scheme

A former attorney in the law firm of Scott Rothstein, a former prominent South Florida attorney now serving time in federal prison, was sentenced Sept. 2 to two years in prison for his role in a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme in which investors were induced to buy interests in nonexistent settlement awards and bogus loans, federal prosecutors announced in a written statement (United States v. Kusnick).
