Feds Want 20 Years for Ex-Ohio Speaker Guilty in RICO Case (2)

Likening him to a mob boss, federal prosecutors said Thursday evening that they want former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder (R) to serve between 16 years and 20 years in federal prison for leading a $60 million pay-to-play scheme involving the utility FirstEnergy Corp.

Householder, 64, was the “mastermind” of the conspiracy and guidelines calculated by a probation officer state he should be given life in prison when he is sentenced in Cincinnati on June 29, according to a filing from the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.
