John Bravata, founder of Michigan-based “real estate investment fund” BBC Equities LLC, and his son Antonio Bravata were convicted March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on charges they defrauded investors out of more than $50 million through a real estate investment scheme (United States v. Bravata).
The jury found Bravata guilty on all 15 counts, including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and wire fraud. Antonio Bravata, was found guilty on only one count—conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.
