Valeant Kickback Scheme Officials’ Forfeitures Cut by Millions

Two former drug-industry executives failed to shake off their convictions for an alleged kickback scheme involving Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.'s acquisition of a startup mail-order pharmacy, in a ruling by the Second Circuit.

But the trial court erred in ordering the defendants to forfeit more than their criminal proceeds and will also need to recalculate the restitution order, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said Oct. 31.
