Ex-Nassau County Executive’s Bribery Conviction Tossed on Appeal

A former Nassau County Executive will be resentenced after an an appeals court overturned a bribery and related conspiracy conviction Thursday, saying the evidence was insufficient.

But the federal panel affirmed judgments against Edward Mangano on all other counts relating to his relationship with a Long Island restaurateur. And his wife Linda Mangano’s convictions and sentence were proper, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in its opinion and summary order.
