EDF Is Said to Face Trial in 2024 Over Favoritism Allegations

Electricite de France SA and two former executives are expected to face a trial in the spring of 2024 over allegations of favoritism in awarding consulting contracts, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The contracts signed by the French utility between 2010 and 2016 were being investigated by country’s financial prosecutor, the Parquet National Financier, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the matter isn’t public.

EDF’s former Chief Executive Officer Henri Proglio and former general secretary Alain Tchernonog will also face trial, as well as 14 consultants hired by EDF without a competitive process, ...
