DOJ, SEC Sue Six Individuals Over Alleged $11 Million Global Investment Fraud

The Justice Department unsealed an indictment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada against six individuals over their alleged roles in an international investment fraud scheme that bilked more than 30 investors out of $11 million (United States v. Brandel).

On the same day, Dec. 16, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a parallel civil suit in the same court against the six individuals, a Swiss-based company—Malom Group AG—and two companies owned by two of the individual defendants—M.Y. Consultants Inc. and M. Dwyer LLC (SEC v. Malom Grp. AG).
