DEA Agent Convicted for Skimming Money From Busts Loses Appeal

A Drug Enforcement Administration agent sentenced to more than 13 years in prison for his involvement in a scheme to steal money and property from people the agency arrested failed to show he’s entitled to a new trial or a sentence reduction.

Chad Scott led a task force of law enforcement officers that targeted drug trafficking in the Northshore area of New Orleans.

The government alleged that Scott and other members of the “Northshore Group” skimmed thousands of dollars from drug busts, falsified documents, hid information, and disposed of evidence, largely for their own personal benefit.
