Colorado Settles Muslim Prison Worker’s Bias, Retaliation Suit

The Colorado Department of Corrections and a Muslim contract administrator who says he was demoted for praying in the workplace and for complaining about discrimination have agreed to settle his lawsuit, federal court records show.

Terms of the agreement weren’t included in the court record.

An attorney for Mansoor Shafi told Bloomberg Law Wednesday that his client “is happy that the matter has been amicably resolved. We are not able to share any further details at this time.”

Counsel for the state DOC didn’t immediately respond Wednesday to Bloomberg Law’s request for details.
