The co-founder and the former chief executive officer of WJB Capital Group Inc. each pleaded guilty July 29 to charges in connection with a scheme to defraud investors of more than $11 million in a bid to prop up the now-defunct broker-dealer (People v. Romanoguilty pleas).
Craig A. Rothfeld, the former CEO, and Michael N. Romano, the firm’s co-founder, pleaded guilty to grand larceny and other charges in New York Supreme Court, New York County. The plea deals contemplate prison terms of 18 months to 54 months.
