London-based Fly Victor Ltd., a “charter broker” that operates private jet booking platforms, doesn’t have to face racketeering claims in the U.S. over its alleged scheme to rip off the owner of PrivateJet.com, a website it ran, a federal appeals court in Atlanta ruled Friday.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit upheld a ruling tossing the case by a federal judge in Miami. That judge said Don’t Look Media LLC couldn’t invoke jurisdiction through the nationwide-service-of-process provisions of federal racketeering laws because it hadn’t shown any racketeering.
