Carmen Group to Pay Record $125K to Settle Lobbying Charges

Carmen Group, a 30-year-old Washington-based lobbying, has agreed to pay a record $125,000 fine to settle allegations it repeatedly failed to file lobbying and political contribution disclosure reports required under the federal Lobbying Disclosure Act, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia announced.

Carmen Group is one of the largest and well-established lobbying firms ever to settle charges of LDA violations and was the third firm to settle such charges since 2013. Its fine was the largest ever imposed in a settlement regarding LDA violations, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
