Call Center Manager Found Guilty in $67 Million Medicare Fraud

A call center manager accused of participating in a $67 million Medicare fraud scheme has been found guilty following a seven-day trial in the Southern District of Florida.

A federal jury in Fort Pierce, Fla., found Jose Goyos guilty on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. He was acquitted of three counts of health-care fraud.

Judge Aileen M. Cannon presided over the trial, which wrapped up Oct. 6. The first time Goyos was tried on the charges, Cannon granted his motion for a mistrial after two of his co-defendants, ...
