California Man Admits to Scamming Would-Be Music Artists of $2 Million

A fake music promoter pleaded guilty Feb. 26 to scamming would-be musical performers of $2 million by claiming he had millions of dollars in letters of intent from major recording labels for new talent, federal prosecutors announced (United States v. Banuelos).

Michael Steven Banuelos pleaded guilty before Judge William Alsup in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
