A Los Angeles man will plead guilty to laundering tens of millions of dollars generated by romance and cryptocurrency investment scams, according to a plea agreement filed in federal district court.
The agreement, filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California, says Joseph Wong will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering “at the earliest opportunity” requested by the government and provided by the court.
Judge R. Gary Klausner may accept or reject the agreement.
Wong is the third defendant in the case to strike a deal with prosecutors.
