A liquidator for Brazilian Banco Master SA sued the family members of financier Daniel Vorcaro in a US bankruptcy court, alleging a massive fraudulent scheme that misappropriated more than $1 billion in bank funds.
Vorcaro’s father and sister, and their company Sozo Real Estate Inc., were sued Monday by the court-appointed liquidator for Banco Master, EFB Regimes Especiais de Empresas Ltda., in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. The suit alleges some of the money was used to purchase a luxury estate in Windermere, Fla.
