Baker Botts Adds Ex-Federal Prosecutor, Target Compliance Chief

Michael Ward has joined Baker Botts as a partner in the firm’s litigation department in Palo Alto, Calif., where he will focus on government investigations and white collar criminal defense.

Ward joins from Vinson & Elkins, the firm said in a Tuesday announcement, and previously held roles as chief risk and compliance officer for Juniper Networks and head of investigations and compliance for Target, Corp. He also served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Minneapolis for 16 years.

While at Juniper, Ward oversaw a six-year Foreign Corrupt Practices Act multi-national investigation spanning into Russia and China, according to Baker Botts. ...
