The former general manager of Audi and VW dealerships in Marin County, Calif., was sentenced to 54 months in prison for an embezzlement scheme that caused $8 million in losses to the company and the IRS, federal prosecutors said.
Judge William Alsup of the Northern District of California also ordered Amir Bakhtiari to spend 36 months on supervised release and to pay $6,618,639 in restitution to Sonnen Motorcars. He also must pay $1,443,911 to the Internal Revenue Service for failing to report the income.
