Arkansas Man Sentenced for Assault During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

Nathan Earl Hughes, of Fayetteville, Ark., was sentenced to 25 months in prison and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine after being convicted of multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses related to his conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the US Capitol, the Justice Department announced Monday.

The DOJ said Hughes previously pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and civil disorder, as well as the misdemeanor offense of impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings.
