Amtrak Contractor, U.S. Settle Bribery Claims Under FCA (1)

Delaware-based textile company First State Manufacturing Inc. will pay $393,250 to resolve claims it violated the False Claims Act by bribing an Amtrak procurement official to secure over $8 million in contracts, according to a Tuesday filing with a Pennsylvania federal court.

The settlement will end the case without First State’s admission of liability or the government’s concession about the substance of the claims, the U.S. told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
