Two defendants charged in an alleged $5.8 million fraudulent investment scheme will not get separate trials, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York determined Nov. 24 (United States v. Gane).
Chief Judge William Skretny said that the defendants “are properly joined under [Fed. R. Crim. P.] Rule 8, and this Court finds no serious risk that a trial right will be denied or that the jury’s verdict will be unreliable.”
