Indiana Pacers minor league player Brian Bowen II had a property interest in playing basketball at the University of Louisville that was damaged when Adidas destroyed his eligibility by giving money to his family to lure him to the school, which had a sponsorship agreement with the shoemaker, Bowen told a federal court in South Carolina.
Bowen filed the memorandum in opposition to Adidas’ argument that his Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act claims fail because his eligibility to play in the NCAA isn’t a business or property interest.
